Has anyone broken a hammer and kept it?

Question:I have, several actually. Myth Busters says its not feasible or dangerous for the metal to break. Their experiment was flawed in several ways. I would like to mail them my broken hammer and anyone else who has one.

Answers:
Mythbusters is crazy. It is feasible and it can be dangerous. That would be especially true with Chinese made axes and hammers. It involves the tempering process and the hardening process as well as how it is cooled off in the manufacturing process.

The answer is: Don't buy cheap Chinese tools.

The myth was whether the hammers would explode, not break. They did break hammers as well. But the hammers did not explode, so the myth was busted. You need to carefully watch the episode again. I think you'll be embarrassed sending them your broken hammers.
