How do i replace the plug on my power cable?

Question:I have a guitar amp.
the third prong (the ground wire) has been pulled out of the plug.
How do i replace the plug?
can i just cut the old one off and hook up a new one?

Answers:
YOu can buy replacement plugs at home improvement stores in the electrical dept. You would cut the old plug off and strip the wires to bare metal. The black wire will go to the yellow or brass colored screw, the white will go to the silver colored one and the green or bare goes to the ground or green screw. Good luck

yes you can. go to radio shack or home depot or something. they have replacement plugs there
get a replacement plug with three prongs from a hardware store. replace the wires one to one. do not get it mixed up or you could be in trouble.

usually the color codes for plugs are. black to smaller blade. white to the larger blade. green to the middle.

good luck!
