Help cutting wood?
Question:im trying to make a speaker box for a 12' speaker but i dont have the tools..when can i take it .i stay in chicago...also i might get the tools today but not sure how to cut it plz help

You need to drill a whole first as your starting point for your blade to fit in. Then follow the circle you have drawn.
first of all, make it 1 q.foot, 1*1*1 foot, 1" MDF. cut with a jig saw, and put'it together with glue. and put inside acrilan wool.
the measures are internal, so ,ad the with of the MDF, if it is 1" cut the parts 1foot+2".
Ok first pick out a wood that will not rot or bend, so you wood pick pretreated wood that is sold at any lumber store. I would suggest you go to homedepot because you are able to have them cut the sheets of plywood in the sizes that you need. All you have to do befor you go there is measure out how long, wide, you need the speakers to be. Oh if you are putting these speackers in you car measure the depth of you trunk or were ever you going to place the speakers, YOu want the box to be able to fit comfortably, Allowing you to close the trunck or see behind yyou back window. Remember measure twice you dont want to go tot he store to buy more wood. Second To make the holes neccesary to put the speackers through you will need a drill. With a pencile outline the speakjer face onto the wood and in the middle of the drawing drill a hole in it. This will allow access for the jig saw to cut the wood out of the circles. YOu will follow the out line you drew on the wood with the jig saw. There you have it you it. Phase one complete. Once all your wood has be precut and measured oput you will be ready to assemble.
Assembling is the easiest part
Depending on who thick you get the plywood ou will have to adjust the drill bits accordenly. Remember because you are not experience at doing this be sure to pre drill your holes before you place any screws in them. If you dont pre drill you will run the chance of spliting you wood. Which will cause poor quality in sound. When you go to home depot discuss with one of the workers about countersinks. This will help your screws go in more smoothly.. So I hope this helps...Oh by the way pretreated wood is stained green if htis bothers you, you may want to buy some sort of durable fabric to cover the box, You can also find this at home depot.
