Learning to bid is as important as having the credentials, and certainly there are as many Pirates out there as there are legit contractors.
Throughout the trades there are "Industry Standards" meaning a range in pricing jobs that not only benefits the contractor but also gives a customer a fair basis of comparison. Certainly those standards might be embellished, or undercut, and in that context it depends on the company, the individual, and teh general, local market, as to who might often get the job.
Starting out in your chosen field you might not anticipate getting the high end of a price scale, but shouldn't "Give away" a job either. The major concern for any contractor should be that one job can lead to multiple jobs while maintaining a reputation, credibility, and obviously a fare wage for themselves.

see an electrical engineer for a detailed plan first with a printout schematic of the house do you want sound and so on or climate controls in everyroom theres cable and dsl and so on ,, first a plan then the contractors ask the local building inspection office ask for a list of reliable contractors show them the plans ask for at least three bids from differant guys get several good referances from each call all of them then make an informed decision ,, have the right permits the contractor if honest wants the permits also to protect both of you and have the inspections done before and after the work is complete make sure the service is rated for each use like the power for the electric and gas ranges and air and heating and so on a simple mistake with the outlet for the dryer could hold up the completion thats why you make a blueprint electric plan with a engineer its worht a 500 dollar bill to have it when the work could be 10 to 15,000,
