How do you install metal roofing? Where do you put the screws??

Question:I am installing a metal roof and heard of many different ways of anchoring the R-panel to my existing roof. I have been told to install the screws on the low side of the R-Panel with self sealling screws. I have also been told to install the screws on the upper part of the ridge. The second option made some sense because why would you make a hole where all rain and snow would be running down. But the first option makes sense because it is a solid anchor, no gap, between the R-Panel and the wood underneath. PLEASE help me ,
Thank You!!!!!

Answers:
The low side attachment is for holding the panel to your roof structure. The high side attachment is for securing your sheet joints together. On your joints, use the recommended tape to ensure a watertight seal. Also, the screws are different for low and high attachments. Don't overtighten the rubber gasket on the screw, this will cause it to leak. Just snug them until the gasket seals the screw. Slow process, but better than looking for a leak in the rain. Good luck!

If I were you I would get the manufacturers recomendations and follow them closely. Most manufacturers offer installation instructions on line if not at the point of sale.
recomend installing a #6 min ground wire to ground rods from the roof
