How can i cool down my bedroom?

Question:im on the second floor of my house, so all the heat rises and it gets extremely hot that it is unbearable to sleep in my room. what is a good way of trying to cool down my room? (i am not able to put an air conditioner in the type of windows i have)

Answers:
Try this:

Fill a sand pail, plastic mixing bowl, or other large plastic thing full of water (not glass). Freeze it in the freezer until it's solid. Then put it in a big cake pan (with a high enough volume to prevent overflow of the ice's melted water) and position a fan so that it's blowing the warm air at the ice and throughout the room.

We used that method a few summers ago when the hurricanes in Florida came through and wiped out our power. We always keep ice in blocks in our deep freeze just in case. They only last in the freezer a few days after the power goes out, but it's nice while it lasts.

Good luck and stay cool!

open ur windows. yeah. and get a fan
try a ceiling fan
buy a fan.
It is possible to install a window air conditioner in a wall, but you should be handy and knowledgeable about construction to do it. Otherwise, have a professional do it.
Use dark curtains to block out the sun and get a large fan to cool you off.
I don't know if it's a possibility for you but i worked for me..a waterbed. I know how it sounds but you can turn the heat down to 70 and you'll be wrapped in blankets in no time to keep warm..and you can crack a window in the winter and turn the heat up. Very comfy.

Also, you can invest in a really good fan. Not a crappy one cause it's noisy and breaks easily. It seems simple but it works for me. You can set a big bowl full of ice water infront of it. The air will blow over the water onto you. It should work for long enough for you to go to sleep anyways.
Get an oslitating fan and open your window after the sun goes down a bit in the evening. Try leaving your door open for some of the heat to escape out during the day and if you have an atic door you can prop it open for the heat to escape to a higher part of the house. You could also get some of those window shades like the ones that you buy for a car ( the silver ones) and put them in your windows in the day to keep so much heat from coming in that way.
Hope this helps;o)
the easiest and the best way is to install an AC unit, but sinche you cant as you would say in your windows. you can still install it in your wall with the help of a carpenter or mason. there is always a way.

if your AC will ruin the design of your house you can use electric fans instead, you may also add up a water fountain so that you will have a source of cold moisture in your room.
go to home depot and get the portable air conditioning with the little vent pipe you stick out the window. that will work for sure.
There are indoor/floor AC units. They work great.
Open the windows and hang a damp towell across the opening (make sure it's secure) As the breeze blows through, the moisture will cool it down. You may have to dampen the towell a couple of times.
buy one of those fan covers that u freeze and wrap it around your fan and it blows cold air just like a air conditioner..when it starts blowing hot agian just simply refreeze.. buy more than one so you can rotate them out.
get 2 fans
place one in the window with the air cpomming inward.. the other with it blowing outward.. this will help cool and circulate your room
and in the daytime when its shot or humid?? close the blinds and curtains to keep extra heat out...
