Stars on my bedroom cealing?

Question:Hey there, Recently i've been wanting to pain my room. So i decied ima going to pain a tree in the corner of my room, half on one wall and half on the other, and im going to have branches reaching over on the cealing. Half of the tree will be red and the other half blue, and im going to make grass along the walls, 2 walls will be night and 2 will be day time. And there will be bubbles on the walls the walls that are day will be red and the ones that are night will be blue. (Im creative)

Anyways, my question is, i went to the rain forest cafe and they had these things on the cealing (propable some color lights and optic wires) to creat stars.

I always wanted stars on my cealing, and glowing ones are a pain to put all over the cealing. Is there anything i can do to make the illusion of stars on the cealing of my bedroom? any idias?

I believe you can buy glow in the dark paint. Then just get some star stencils at a craft store (like JoAnn Fabrics) and paint the stars up there. Another option is to use Christmas lights. You could paint the wire to match your ceiling (that would be ok because it's not going to be handled or moved around once it's up there...). Then use a staple gun to attach it to the ceiling in a random pattern. I'm not sure how great it would look during the day, but it would be cool at night...

Well, I know you said you didn't want glowing ones, but an easy way to put them up is to glue tacks to the back with hot glue. That way you don't have to deal with putty or sticky tack on a bumpy ceiling, and the stars are easy to put in and take out. It's what I did when I had stars on my ceiling (50+, various sizes).

I suppose another option would be to use glow in the dark paint and paint on dots. You wouldn't really see them in the daytime, but at night they should glow a bit.
The best thing to do is to go to your local crafts shop and look for the glow in the dark stars. There are several in a package. I think Walmarts also has them. They are kinda hard to find, but if you can't find them in the toy section, look where there is school supplies. Anyway, the come in a clear package and are us ally hanging on a hook. They come with some sticky clay stuff that you put just a little on. Then you just press them on the celling. While the lights are on they absorb the light. Then when you turn off the lights they glow. they are really easy and neat looking. There is another way. You can go to Walmarts and get glow in the dark paint and a stencil and stencil them on. I haven't used the paint so I don't know how well it works. I would go with the stars in the package. Good luck the room sounds neat.
It sounds like you want the illusion of stars on your ceiling without doing the work of attaching stars. The only idea I have is similar to what planetariums do. They project the image of stars on the ceiling. Buy a star projection lamp or maybe you can make one yourself. What is needed is a light bulb inside a fire resistant globe that has holes punched in it to allow light to project on the ceiling. With practice, I'm sure you can make one that will work just fine. Good luck.
The lamp you want comes pre made and ready for use at the following website

if you do the miniture light idea you can make it more aesthic for day time by purchinshing a inexpesive dark navy blue sheet(s) enough largh enough to create a canaopy that attaches to the cielingmake sure there is enpough hang on it at least 3 inches from light source try to find flame retardent fabric mostly in kids sheets, Discovery store has real cool cieling stars w/ constellation diagrams

I don't know what your budget is but i found this on the web and it seems really cool for what you want to do
