Removing carpet?
Question:from cement, there is this gray glued down padding underneath it. wut r my options in removing it?
Answers:
Please do not use a solvent. Too many people have been badly burned, or worse, due to pilot lights, sparks, etc. The best method I have found, is using a large razor scraper, with a telescopic, padded handle. Most carpet layer supply stores sell them and some industrial rental business's, rent them. Be sure to buy some extra blades and watch out, they are very sharp. If that is not possible, if you put a sharp edge on an ice scraper, and keep it sharp, that will also work. Just not as well.
you could try and wet it down and let dissolve the glue or you could scrape it off if you scrape it off you can use a flat shovel or pull up as much as you can and use solvent to dissolve the glue umm just make sure you are well ventilated if you do that
Go to your local harware store and and purchase a 6" scraper with a handle that is the height of regular shovels. The padding usually is pulled up quite easily. Then use the scraper to scrape the glue from the cement. It should not be difficult. The padding glue is usually spread sporadically throughout the room. Now if the padding glue was spread over square inch of cement floor,it is going to take a lot more scraping. Good luck
