I used stripeze to remove finish on wood floor ,now what do I do?
Question:
Answers:
Clean the floor with mineral spirits and steel wool to get any remaining gunk. Allow the floor to dry thouroughly.
Sand with a floor sander and apply your finish. The amount of sanding and grit of paper you will need depends upon the condition of the floor. Your last sanding should be a fine grit paper, if the floor is in good shape otherwise you can probably get away with just the fine.
Lacquer thinner. Lots and lots of lacquer thinner and steel wool. !CAUTION! If your not used to toxic fumes (and don't like to get whacked out on inhalants) wear an organic respirator. Use 000 steel wool pads and a 1/3 of a gallon of thinner. Scrub the floors until the lacquer thinner gets dirty. Discard the pads and thinner and repeat. This may sound like allot of trouble, but it will thoroughly remove any traces of the old finish and is guaranteed to restore the floors to their natural beauty.
