Every time I use my iron, the trip switch flicks off...?
Question:I just changed the plug and it did it again...why!?
Answers:
Have you tried changing the fuse in the plug, it could have blown. Or you could try to put it in a different plug socket, it may be defective..
Theres Obviously A Fault With The Iron, Fuse Or Something Mybe?
Sounds like there is a short circuit in the iron. Don't use it until it is repaired. It could cause a fire. Cheaper to replace it.
Wahtever you do, don't try replacing the fuse with one that is 'bigger'. Fuses are there to blow. Anyway, it's the ELCB or circuit breaker that's tripping and not the fuse in the plug.
There's obviously a fault with the iron. Get another one or get it fixed but don't try and use it again.
Check to see what amp fuse you have in the plug. Try a 13amp one.
Why change the plug if it's the trip switch?
Is it a steam iron on a RCD'd circuit by any chance?
Is the power point over loaded? if it is try just plugging your iron in on its own.
Change the fuse or iron. Better to prevent an accident rather then provoking one.
Walk to trash, drop iron in--go to Wal Mart and get a new one. Do not mess with a faulty iron--danger danger.
Do you have it set for where you live? Obviously it isn't accepting the electric you are using.
Change your iron, not your switch... you probably have a short somewhere in the iron.
it must be shorting to earth buy a new one theyre not expensive
