Sticky adhesive tape stuck on wall?

Question:about four or five years ago I put a foam bulletin board on my bedroom wall, well i am now moving out and I really need to get these off before my dad see's them...so does anyone know a way to get this adhesive tape off the wall other then scraping it off with your fingers or a knife (because I have already tried that)?

thanks a bunch

Answers:
First soak the tape with window cleaner and rub it until it comes off...if that doesnt work put a little WD-40 on a rag and rub...it will come right off.

"Goop"...you can purchase it at Home Depot or Lowe's.
finger nail polish remover.
It will take the paint off as well and then you have to touch up the paint.
Pull off as much debirs as you can Spray a rag with "Pam" cooking spray and rub. Or use baby oil if you don't have pam.
try nail polish remover, be careful not to rub too hard cause you could remove the paint as well Mike
try one of those Mr clean sponges there awsome and get anything off of walls.Or Goo be gone.
Use Goo Gone, it works marvelously. It's available at Canadian Tire, Rona, Wal-Mart and most stores that sell cleaners.
you got some good answers but whatever you do avoid using oils (WD-40, baby oil) this can contaminate the wall surface and make it difficult to repaint.

-R - but yes it won't HURT the paint. but when you want to repaint it, it will repel the new paint. knowhatimean?
WD-40 in a coarse dishcloth.
Wipe area aggressively.

It will remove it after a few strokes, and it won't hurt your paint.
