How to get paint-remover to dissappear from wood?

Question:I spilled some acrylic paint on my deck and tried to get it off with water, then rubbing alcohol, and then finnally an acrylic paint remover. The remover left dark patches on the my wooden deck, which has no finish or paint by the way, and the paint still shows. Im hoping that rain will clear it off, but can I try something else?

Answers:
It will fade over time, but there is no solution that will remove the paint remover from the wood, as it has absorbed into the wood's cells. The reason, the acrylic paint remover is not water soluble. You could continue to work up to heavier solvents, but you would probably only succeed in staining your deck more.

You can sand off the top layer of wood, but you will want to do this to the whole surface of the deck, so it will look even. You could also simply replace the individual planks in the deck which are stained. Your choice.

Ok, I can help! Go to home depot and get.

Quick Fix by behr (blue bottle)
Deck Cleaner by behr (green bottle)
Located in the paint department. (you should also get the white bottle of mold remover)

The directions are on the back...but it's blue, green and white inbetween.

This will strip your deck (you have to in order to get those stains out)
Then it will clean your deck and you are ready for staining
Also use behr weatherproofing stain....it will last 15 years or so.

Good luck, I am sorry it is so much work, but It will turn out ok. Look at the bright side, it's spring time!
First paint on a genrous coat of lacquer thinner so it softens the acrylic(indicative of shrivelling) Try a fingernail brush and work the laquer thinner to lift the paint off and let that evaporate. After that point, you gonna have to sand it or scrape it or finesteel wool it.
