I have some large silver pieces that are tarnished. What is the quickest way to polish?

Don't polish it, use Qwicksilver plate with the proper detergent.

Purchase MAAS. Use your web browser or google to search for suppliers, i.e., Ebay, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, etc.
Use Tarnex silver cleaner. It's easy to use, but smells a bit. You can just pour it into a glass bowl and dip the silver into it, the tarnish disolves away quickly and easily. If the pieces are too large for a bowl, just put a little on a clean cloth and wipe the tarnish away.
