Blow Pens and carpeting?
Question:Does anyone know how to get blow pens out of carpeting? My son accidentally got some on his bedroom rug and I need to get it out.
Answers:
try a mixture of club soda, rubbing alcohol and a oxi clean powder. shake it up in a spray bottle.. and try in a inconspicuous area first. once you know it doesnt damage the color of your carpet... use it on the stain. make sure you blot not rub as it could make the stain worse. good luck :)
sten removeal and bleach and just rub untill gets back that cloro only use bleach if white carpet
I would say that if you have reasonably tried to clean it (maybe check of suggestions at the blow pens website), then call your insurance comapany and file a claim. My cousin's son spilled a gallon of paint on their carpet recently and their insurance company took care of it. Now, if your carpet is really old and needs replacing anyhow, I would say now is the time to do it.
There's a product on the market called Spot Shot. Try that, I've had great success getting a variety of spots out of my carpet with it including red wine.
Hi:
Since the colorant in blow pens is probably dye based and not pigment based, if you're unable to remove the color with traditional bleach products, you might try the gel bleach or OxyClean type products. I was able to get SetAColor paint flecks out of a white cotton sweater using an OxyClean product. Hope this helps, and good luck!
If it is only on the top, and nothing else works, you may be able to snip off the top part of the fibers. Or, if you still have some of the carpet rolled up or used as a mat somewhere else, cut the small square out that is damaged and patch it in. You can use a strong adhesive like liquid nails or gorilla glue. If all else fails, move the furniture around.
I would advise against filing an insurance claims. All claims go on your record, even inquiries. After a certain amount of claims/inquiries (some companies have a "2" rule) they will increase your rates. You are then seen as a potential hazard or a liability.
