Standard window air conditioner in sliding window?
Question:I have sliding windows but id rather buy a standard window air conditioner since its much cheaper and provides more features and better EER rating. Does anyone know how I could go about putting it into a sliding window and:
A: secure it
B: cover up the opening on the top of the window
Does anyone know of any links to doing this?

Just up my alley.
Use a 2 X 4 on the sill to set the AC on. One more 2 X 4 going up to the top on each side next to the AC, One more over the top of the ac, and one at the top of the window Fill the empty space with a piece of plywood. Screw it together, and it will be nice and sturdy.
Put a sturdy board on the window sill at the outside of the board attach strong wire and hang it from the two by four's.
At the top get that two inch Grey tape used for packages and tape it off. You may need a piece of plastic also for a spacer.
