Im building a soundproof box for my PC as I record music and its too loud. I have a question...?

Question:What are the best materials to use? I know a few sound insulating tricks from college like staggered angles, layered walls and soundproof foam. But Im not sure what to make the main case out of, wood? plastic?
I have a few ideas about fans and airflow too. Thanks for any advice.

Why not turn the volume down? What effect will a soundproof box have ? I dont understand your idea!

If you are a musician as it appears you are from the photo, think about your amp and speaker cabinets...they have been made out of wood for decades and still are by the best manufactures. Wood, particularly MDF is perfect for this.
Rock on Dude.. Brother is a bass play, I played drums since 4th grade paid for college playing in a club band.. never give up your music..no matter what SHE says...
my pc was loud then i cleaned the fan and the heat sink on the processor chip lot quieter now . the fan ran faster and more often because of the heat buildup . building a sound proof enclosure might be harmful because of heat buildup make sure its vented good but then there will be noise.
Disable the playback file during recording process.
