What is the best way to take up a particle board floor?

Question:This is taking forever with the hammer, crowbar, pick ax... any ideas?

Answers:
i use a shovel to pry up gently and work a line not in just one spot it saves on the back to.

Other than hiring a contractor, that's the way to do it. It's a job!
Take a circular saw, set the depth of the blade to the thickness of the particle board. Cut the particle board into a grid pattern, 12"x12" squares works good and then use your hammer and flat, wide pry bar.
if you're in a hurry and money isn't an issue you can rent a powered flooring scraper to go at it with, won't take long, particle board is one of the all time flops in flooring, doesn't hold up and sucks to remove
Leave it in place and cover with new subfloor.
