Does this kind of cloth unravel?

Question:I had long pants that were made of the sort of material that are commonly used in athletic clothes. The type with holes in it. I cut the pants into capris, and they don't seem to be unraveling, though its hard to tell. Is it necessary to sew the edges, cause i'd rather not if it isn't necesarry?

Answers:
My son's hasn't unraveled yet. I hope they don't when he's wearing them.

Read the label. If there is cotton in the material, most likely they will fray. If a cotton/poly blend, probably not. You can buy this stuff that keeps fabrics from fraying. Go to Wal-Mart and look for it in the sewing section.
