Concrete Curing and use?

Question:I am planning on pouring some concrete piers for a deck approximately 12" wide by 30" deep. How long must I let it cure prior to putting a 6x6 post on it?

Answers:
Depending on the weight of the proposed deck check the bag of cement for cure times.I have seen home slabs poured on friday and the whole house framed and dryed in on wednesday. Not a great idea because of excessive cracking and heaving of the slab.Good luck and remember a little extra cure time is better than not enough.

For your particular situation only a couple of days.
24 hours is plenty of time
It depends upon which kind of concrete you are using. I would suggest reading the instructions on the bag and trust that.

In my experience with this kind of construction, I usually wait a day and the concrete I use is set up about as hard as it needs to be for most any kind of traffic.

Good luck on your project. It sounds like you're making a deck?
