If you have a hole in paneling, is there a way to fix it without replacing the paneling?
Question:the hole is about the size of a baseball, maybe a little smaller.
Answers:
Not really without making it look like crap.
Unless this a hole made by a door knob or is some where you can hang a picture or poster. If a door knob, go to lowes or HD and in the trim and molding dept, ask them for a "rosette". Then affix it to the hole for a door stop.
Another thought, if the area in question is close to the floor, install an outlet and cover plate. It`ll be a dummy, but only you`ll know.
well.try packing newspaper behing the hole til there is only about 1/4" of space.then, fill with sheetrock mud in a couple layers...let one layer dry and shrink, then add the next layer, and so on till its smooth.sand a touch, and stain the color of paneling..it will show a little but, the hole will be sealed...
good luck
Get some Great Suff foam (spray can). Fill in the hole; sand it and stain to match the paneling. If the hole is small enough yu can also use Plastic Wood. . read directions on both cans; wear rubber gloves.
Sounds like a good place to put a picture of your in-laws.
