How can i get those restroom faucets that are sensor or turn off at a certain point?

Question:I want to save water. I want to get for my bathroom sinks the fixture or system that public restrroms have to either release the water when your hands go under it or just only let out a certain portion of water? Do they sell those for home/ residential use? Are they easily installable? Like my husband for a weekend project?

Answers:
The sensor faucets can be purchased at a wholesale plumbing supply. They do require electric for the power. They are not the easiest thing to install for a home owner. (LOTS of parts needed. You also will have JUST warm water. The spring activated(which will shut off after the spring expand) are just like installing a regular lavatory faucet. You also might have to get that from a wholesale distributor. Make sure you get a two handle one if you want separate hot and cold. A single handle faucet will just give you a warm mixture.

Those faucets are triggered by movement. No timer should be necessary as the water stops when it does not sense movement.
If you are a DIYer call your local plumbing supply house and they will fill you in on cost and get it for you. At least that is what I would do.
