You might try going to the website for Kenmore and then look up the model of your washer. Then see if there is an online manual or spec sheet that might show how the belt goes on.
If not, there is a good book from the library called, "How to Fix Most Anything", that covers a lot of home appliances, both older and newer.

how old is it? some of the newer ones are direct drive, no belts. you can buy a repair manual for them from an appliance parts store, or check the web.
