Question:Ok, WHO here is building a House all by their itsy bitsy self?
Any comments, leads, sites, stories etc are welcome

3 years ago and will start another next year.
I have, but won't again, in the STRICT sense.
A noble challenge certainly, but define "BY ONES SELF".
There are specialties I'd prefer subbing out, and do, IE: Plumbing; Electrical work; Roofing: etc. Beyond that; obvious considerations such as location, design, eventual market value, substance, budget, Time frame to be IN the house; and many others should be on your list.
So many analogous sayings can be applied here,,,no offense at all. Some that come to mind certainly might apply to ones skill/ability levels, and always one should include the "OOOPs" factor.
Also in todays market there are very valid, viable options in "NOT FROM SCRATCH" and they might be something for you to research.
