hard to say unless i see it for my self but.. read the receptacle.. there should be a "line" side and a "load" side . the line side is the black wire that is hot when the circuit breaker is on... the other black is not on, that is the wire that feeds the "loads", ..the gfci ... ground fault circuit interrupter..protects everything daisy chained after it. so are there 3 black wires after you extended it to the back yard?.... those go on the load side. black on brass color.all the whites under the silver screw.. and the green or bare copper to the ground screw . and the black and red buttons are test and reset. turn it on and push the reset button.. and if it is positively wired correctly and trips... the switch could be bad or something is grounded... good luck...
You'll have to rewrite your question so that it's shorter and much clearer. It's not helpful when a do-it-yourselfer says that an electrical item 'doesn't work.' It's expected that you'll have used some sort of a tester to see which wires are energized and which are not. Note that there's a ground-fault interrupter on that outlet, and if it has tripped, the outlet will not energize.
Flip the breaker... ON!!!
make certain the GFI plug is not tripped. make certain of that! push littele red button in on plug.
