How do you get a sink drain unclogged?
Question:
Answers:
Try a sink plunger, then put the liquid draino down that is a gel, if that doesn't work, call rotor rooter, they do not charge much and it works. (if you have a basement you have a clean out, glove up, cover your mouth and dig.)
i have found for my toughest clogs that the drain-o snake works the best
Pour 1 cup salt & 1 cup vinegar down the drain. Add 3 cups boiling water, and allow to sit for an hour. Flush with cold water.
If none of the "unplugger" products work for you, Take the trap off underneath (watch for water! As there will Be some when you undo the pipe(s?).
I use a snake designed to fit on a power drill and run it as far as far as need be; or until you feel the clog give and the snake is easy to push further.
This is for LIGHT clogs, however.
If this is a continuing problem you may need to rent a heavier snake and run it as far as it will go.
If it still occurs, then time to call a plumber.
If you`re stubborn and insist on DIY (like me (:>
Email me and I`ll send step-by-steps on going all the way out to where it connects to the city sewer line or septic tank.
OR just add more details to your question and ask.
SOME_body will have the answer.
Good Luck!

Normally a blocked drain is caused by fat setting in the trap under the sink.
A jug of boiling water is the first trick I try as it is at hand, just pour it down the plug hole.
It the sink is full of water you may need to use a cup and bucket to drain some water out.
The next step is to remove the trap underneath. Be Sure You Have The Plug In The Hole.
first try turning on your disposal while plugging the other side...if no disposal try disconnecting the pipes under the sink to see if they are clear..if they ARE then the line needs to be snaked...i do not suggest renting a snake to do it your self,,powered snakes can cause injury
