Do u know of anything that would make a pair of jeans stiff for a project?

Question:i went to a garden center and i was looking at all the garden plant holders...well, i seen this one plant holder, it was a pair of toddler jeans with a bowl inside the waist part ...but the jeans had a clear hard finish, & its something i want to try & do..but i dont know what the finish coat was...i think it was like some sort of glue...any ideas?

Answers:
Spar urethane is the best thing for you to use, it is a type of varnish like shellac, polyurethane, laquer. however it is the toughest in outdoor projects. trust me i do this stuff for a living

how about shalak,
ask about it at like micheals or any craft store
shellac
Lets see

You could were them every day for about three weeks but I don't think that would be the look you are looking for but polyurethane would work as well as shellac
There's this fabric medium that's called Stiff Stuff or Stiffy(no I'm totally serious =) ) Used to be used for making those Waverly bows that were always glued to baskets (gag) You would need to seal it with a waterproof varnish . Lots of coats!! You can still get the stuff at Walmart I think. I think it's made by Aleene's. Sounds really cute.my neighbor used one of her daughters little puddle boots for a planter!
POLYURATHANE
Polyurethane. Brush don't spray.
