Will a one room, in window air conditioner work with my window?

Question:My window opens horizontally, so I'm just wondering if it will work with my kind of window.

Answers:
Try a portable, in room swamp cooler, not to bulky and not to expensive and they work pretty good any where you want to use them. You can add ice to the water on some modeles for a blast of cold.

I would not recommend that at all. You could damage the AC unit. Home depot or Lowes may have one that are specially made for that kind of window. Good luck in your search ! i hope I was of some help ! Have a great day ! Janet
There are ac units made for sliding windows.
Very likely there is a model that will work with all but the smallest operable windows. You may have to look to find one though. Try Google to find a brand after measuring your window.
here is a link crappy tire it has one here for under 500 bucks

You'll have to open the window, measure all around it, take out the screen, build a frame that fits the window and the circumference of the a/c. Then screw the a/c to the frame. No one will pull that out, we have 3 done this way for years now, we take them out in winter.
Yes you will simply have to place a piece of wood over the top portion of the air conditioner. You will need to seal in it nicely so that air doesn't escape, and paint the exterior of the wood to look like the house so that it doesn't attract theives.

Otherwise yes you can do it.
