How many hours should I wait to plug my fridge back in after laying it on its side?
Question:I know that if a fridge gets plugged in immediately after standing it back up, it could (and does!) ruin it.
I'm going to be on the safe side and wait a full 24 hours.

To my knowledge, 24 hours is the suggested wait time. The reason is that the refrigeration fluid runs out of the compressor when you lay it on its side, and you need to let it run back down by standing it back up.
well it's never good to lay a fridge on its side, but since you already have I would wait 24 hours also. Good luck I hope it still works
either wait 24 hours or leave it stood up right twice as long as it was layed down.
If it has been laid on its side 12 hours if delivered upright about 2 hours

Just curious, why did you have the fridge on its side? Did someone knock it over? Wasn't it heavy to lift back up?
6 to 8 hours only if it was on the wrong side, you need to wait so the freon has time to settle back down. But if you had it on the side with the suction line facing downward then there is no need to wait.
it's not for the FREON to settle down, its to make sure the compressor oil has settled back down into the compressor, before you start it up again. If you did you would probably drive the pump in a dry condition and stand a chance of burning up or seizing the compressor pump.
The coolent contains oil which lubricates the compressor (after all, just a pump of some sort). 24 hours should work just fine.
The "coolant" as you say IS the freon with oil in it. That's exactly what giancarlo said needed to settle. And that ONLY takes a few hours. Yes it is a pump, "not of some sort" just a pump.

A couple of hours up right should do it. The couple ounces of oil that will drain down from the compressor will drain back down.
If it wasn't on it's side for 3 or 4 days you are ok, how do you think they are delivered? Mine was on it's side.
