Painting Pressed-Wood Surface?

Question:I have pressed wood as a desk. I want to make it silky smooth, and black! Part of it I succeeded, but other part I failed. Is there anything to put on the surface to act as a new surface and paint on that? Something relatively cheap.

Answers:
Use a product called "wood filler". Your local home improvement store like Lowes will help you. You can apply it with a rag, let it dry and then sand the surface to give you a nice, smooth surface to paint. Check to see if the particular product you purchase will work on a previously painted surface and will stick to the particular type of paint you used. If you cannot use wood filler, then I follow the other answer posted regarding sanding the surface well and just giving it another coat. When working with raw pressed board the wood filler should stick fine and give you a nice finish.

You're probably gonna have to get a palm sander, sand it down and repaint it, should do the trick
get some fine sand paper, the current paint will need to be completely dry. sand and paint evenly
