What can I do about my Lava Lamp Grande to make it work better?

Question:It just makes small blobs. I have several smaller sizes that make a solid blob that suspends from top to bottom after they warm up. What (if anything) can I do about it?

Answers:
The stuff that looks like lava in the lamp is a polymer or wax. It's heat sensitive which means it warms more than the suspending fluid, and, therefore rises, then cools a bit and falls. (For a thorough explanation, try this website:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lava_lamps)... Little blobs may mean that the polymer/wax is degrading. You can do little about that. It may be that the lamp is getting too hot. You could try a lower watt bulb. Good luck.

I hate it when I'm wrong (or sort of wrong). According to some further research the little blobs may just be a characteristic of the lamp. Try this : http://www.simply70s.com/lavalampfaqs.as...
