How do i fix an indoor furnace pilot light that shoots flames out the front?

Question:

Answers:
I would call an AC heating man and let him do the work. I will work on everything except gas. My experience with what you are talking about ended up being the pressure of the gas coming in was too strong

First of all BE CAREFUL! When a flame does unexpected things there are usually reasons.

If it is just the pilot then it could be the thermocouple (thing that keeps the pilot lit and lets the gas valve know the pilot is lit).

If you are talking about the burner flame shooing out the front of the furnace TURN THE FURNACE OFF NOW!

Have your furnace checked for cracks in the heat exchanger. Also have your flue checked if you have not found the problem.

This problem could be life threatening. Have a professional check your furnace before you use it again.
Replace the pilot. Not too tough, but check for leaks.

Look up your furnace and get parts online.
If it's the pilot only,it's leaking. If it does this when the main burner kicks on,something is blocking flu, obstructing draft
