What should I use as edging/restraint for my paver patio?

Question:

Answers:
There are several types of paver edging on the market. If it is fairly level ground, the type at this website works pretty well: http://www.landscapedesign-build.com/ldb...

The second type is very stable and relatively expensive. It will last and last however:

There is a metal edging that can be used if your pavers are going to be on top of the ground and higher than the yard. Home Depot or Lowes or any home building place should have it.

I think it's best to get something that is made specifically for your task as in the first two examples. Hope you have much success.

I'd use that heavy metal edging that is about 5-6" wide and comes in 10 or 12 foot lengths. It can be bent if needed, and held in place w/ stakes hammered into the ground.

Then, use rectangle pavers to the edge of the metal edging. This will make a nice edge and define it. Then fill in w/ pavers.
depending on what shape paver's they are you could stand them on end and bury them half way in the ground. for example: around my used brick patio where I stopped I took bricks and set them at an angle half way in the ground. so the flat side off the brick (where the mortar goes) is right up against the last brick of the patio at an angle and the next brick leans against it matching the angle and this repeats around the patio edge. where the access area is they are standing straight up and not higher than the patio (so nobody trips)
I hope I explained that clearly its simple but describing the orientation of the bricks is clearly not..
you can either use 5/16" redwood bender board or get some of the plastic designer bed border control rolls that go in the ground 6 inches.
They make both plastic and metal edging just for this purpose. Concrete is the best and most permanent
