Answers:
Go to your art supply center and look in the section for stained glass. There are spray on "etching" products that are super simple to use. They look like frosted glass when you are finished.
something other than glass.
Use Krylon spraypaint
You can spray it with a spray paint available at HD or Lw's that is made for frosting windows its in the paint cage area. or you can buy a etching compound and do it that way basically same effect. When its done it looks like frosted glass. ya no like in the bathroom windows..
If you don't want a permanent application:
solid or frosted Contact [TM] adhesive plastic (peal & stick)
GlassWax [TM] cleaning compound (sponged on)
There are glass etching gels. Flip the glass upside down and use a paint brush to apply a uniform coating of the etching gel. Wait as per the directions until the etching has occurred. Then wash off the remaining gel. You will have a frosted looking surface.
One way to accomplish this is with a frosted or patterned plastic applied with spray adheasive.
Any Walmart has the patterened plastic in the Hobby area in several widths( by the sewing cloths) the spray contact adheasive is sold at Walmart as well.
Spray the underside of you desktop with adheasive and apply the plastic.
Put on the plastic and don't worry about it being too big. You can trim the edges easily after the plastic is installed.
just spray paint the underneath side of the glass.
