How do I determine what size Softstart Switch I need.?

Question:I have a A.C Heat pump, 208VAC, D.P 50AMP 3 phase..

Are you refering to magnetic motor starter? AC heat pumps do not require a seperate mag motor starter. Mag starters are sized by motor HP, voltage, phase.

Have you checked with the AC manufacturer? OR the company that installed it?

Soft Start is a bit confusing to me. I'm not strictly an AC trades person. My Central heat/AC operates through a thermostat.
