How can I attach pre pasted wall paper without submersing it into water?

Question:I want to cut shapes out of it and paint on designs to decorate my sons room, but won't be able to submerse it once its painted

Answers:
You could use regular wall paper paste. You could use elmers glue. You could use almost any other kind of glue. Or you can use a wet sponge on the back of the wall paper.

The pros and cons are:

If you use the wet sponge method it may not adhere to the wall very well. The wall paper paste method is messy and might still get the paper too wet.

The glue method would work too well and you wouldn't be able to remove it later without a lot of sanding.

If it was me, I'd consider putting up the wall paper first, then do the painting on it.

You could staple it to the wall once it is painted. If the staples show you can cover them with the paint. I did this before in my kitchen. Good luck
You could use a spray bottle or a wide paint brush to apply the water. Be careful when you blot and smooth the pictures to the wall, some touch ups may be needed. Good luck BLUE
You could use a spray bottle, but the reason it is submerged is for the paste to loosen up and the wall paper "relaxes". That way you get a nice smooth appearance to your wallpaper with no lumps or bumps. If you use a spray bottle, you will have to keep spraying, allowing the water to penetrate, causing the wallpaper to relax.
Try soaking a big sponge with water, Then wiping it across the paper...
Border glue.

Wheat paste.
