What's the best wasy to attach a shed onto a concrete slab.?
Question:We laid concrete to put our shed on and need something to attach it. We tried concrete nails but that seems to crack the surface around too much is that supposed to happen? Is there something not as much of a pain in the neck to use?
Answers:
Use "tapcon " concrete anchors they have them at home depot and lowes in the hardware isle , use a hammer drill to pre-drill the holes with the supplied bit and then simply screw in the anchor. (by the way sophie if you haven't heard of concrete or (cut) nails then maybe you should keep your answers to yourself)
if you can get an air hammer that will work.
Use a hammer drill and concrete anchors. Use a masonry bit. The Hammer drill will keep you from wearing out your bits as fast.
I never heard of concrete "nails". I always thought they used concrete "screws".
You might want to check with a mobile home (trailer) dealer in your area and get some tiedowns, the kind they use on attaching mobile homes to their concrete base. They're made of steel and then attached to a peg that's put into the ground and cemented in place.
Use a masonry bit to drill holes in the cement and use drive in type anchors! Any good hardware store can give you more detail but it is very easy to do!...Good luck!
rugratz you are on,
scary what some people here say
like the others, i would use a hammer drill with a masonry bit. 3/8" drill bit and 3/8" wedge or sleeve anchors would work. drill the holes, insert anchor tighten up nut till it's tight and your shed is anchored to your slab. depending on how many you put it you should be done in an hour or so. also depending on how far the edge of the slab is to your shed water proofing around the inside and outside of your shed with caulking my be a good idea.
