Where can I find tounge and groove ceiling tiles for my basement?
Question:I dont see too many web sites that offer these, and the ones that do dont have a price. How much do you think the ceiling tiles would cost for a 12x17 basement? I'm just replacing the old ones and using the same furring strips
Answers:
MENARDS AND HOME DEPOT SELLS THOSE IF THEY ARE IN YOUR AREA. ROUGHLY AT .69 PER TILE I QUOTE THE PRICE TO BE ABOUT $140.00.
Check with your local home builder supplier store. If they are available they should have them or know where you can get them
I don't think you need any other answers but Gerry's
If you have an HD or Lowes locally they certainly have acoustical tongue and groove tiles, in various patterns.
I'm not decrying web shopping, but as a trades person, Actually seeing the items in a personal shopping experience is my choice.
I have done a ceiling that way in a few years, and actually wouldn't do one from scratch, but you're replacing to keep the same situation. I cannot imagine they cost more than a ceramic tile,,,as an example, and usually are sold in case lots. The issue is largely that you HAVE to, and even at $2 a piece it seems you have few other options. 12x17 = 204 sq. ft. allow 10% waste and if they are 12 inch squares I doubt the ceiling would cost $400.
I hope certainly that you can match the current pattern.

Jerry G has the answer.
try a search for acoustic ceiling tiles in your area... but for that type you need someone who specializes in ceiling tile... well in our area home depot and lowes do not carry this type...
