What makes brass turns green?

Question:

Answers:
It's called oxidation, and it's basically rust for brass instead of steel.

the copper reacts with the environment to oxidize in this way. If it's a look you're trying to get, brush on vinegar.
air and water
oxidation its the same thing that makes steel rust. if your looking to get rid of it get a brass polish or something with hydrofloric acid like wire wheel cleaner for cars. not sure how the brass will react to the acid but it sure cleans the hell out of chrome!
