You don't need to service it. Just keep the blades of the mower cylinder sharp. With the mechoroller, all you need to do is brush it down after use and make sure that you don't get any clogging in the sprocket that links with the motor. If you do, you will have to clean that, but you shouldn't need to remove it at all. Just use a brush, turn the roller slightly, brush again, etc.
