How much do you think it would cost me to build a 18x24 workshed(without crew labor costs)?
Question:Im building a 18x24 workshed for myself and i was wondering how much all the lumber would cost me,i have been trying to search on google to find out the prices of lumber but cant find it anywhere, my shed is going to be a barn style with a full size loft ,im using 2x4's for the walls and roof and im using 2x6's for the floor and rafters.

Guessing your putting your studs two foot on center,(based on southern Indiana USA prices) Your still needing 3/4" tounge and groove OSB for floor, T siding for walls and door, 7/16" osb for roof, #15 lb felt, shingles, H clips, roofing nails, 8 and 16 D nails, 1x4 trim boards, drip edge, hinges, latch, vent and paint. (things you didn't mention) 432 sqft shed I would guest-a- ment a price of $1600 for materials alone.
Have fun, you maybe best check into a kit. Much easier for a DIYer!
why not go to a couple of local lumber stores and estimate it. i can tell you it won't be all that cheap.
Thier are companies that have them prebuilt other than that you need to figure you're materials and take to youre local home depot or other hardware store for a take off then you will know a close estimate.
Here is a tip: if you go to youre local builders store for a take off bid you can take it to home depot and they will have to match the price plus 10 percent off so work the local guy over for a low price and then take it to depot get it?
not counting slab or electrical, roughly $5,000. that is using 30 yr. shingle roof, with hardy siding.
Wood-$2000
Nails, fasteners, etc $200
Roofing $500
Siding (Good quality vinyl) $800
Doors and windows -it depends on what you want.
Your local municipality will require a concrete floor and will consider a structure that big a garage and not a shed. You will have to meet building codes for building a garage.
One other factor, and I am not trying to be funny, but if you can't fiqure out what 2x4's cost in your area maybe you shouldnt be building this yourself. This is a big project.
