What is the special material used for school ceilings? the nonflammable tile-like material? thanks?


Question:Does anyone know of the special material that is used in schools for the ceiling? It's a type of tyle material and it seems to me that it is non flammable..

Do you also know of any alternatives to drywall that are non flammable? thanks alot

acoustic ceiling boards. It is fire-resistive with acoustic properties. It's also a practical solution for institutions requiring above-ceiling pipe maintenance on a regular basis.

Virtually every ceiling among the hundreds of thousands of commercial and residential buildings I have built or maintained were drywall, some are type X fire resistant type, or drop ceiling panels. All are fire resistant to one degree or another. The is almost nothing shout of steel which is cannot be burned.
