How much does it cost to frame and drywall a basement?

Question:Size around 30X15

Answers:
It depends on your size and what your want to do. We finished an 860 sq. ft. area with my husband doing some and outside contractors for the detailed stuff such as bathroom and drywall detail (that's an art) and had someone finish the painting and ceiling etc., and Home Depot put in the carpet, all for roughly around $10,000. That was fairly inexpensive given that my husband had purchased the materials from Home Depot in advance and did the framing and electrical himself. Good quotes from local people who do this if you aren't handy would cost you more. Additions are never cheap unless you don't want them done right. Get quotes from several companies and see what works for you.

about 65 dollars a sq. foot
Depends where you live. How many walls? is doing the wiring involved? any windows or doors in the basement? Do you want to include insulation and vapor barrier. Who pays for the materials? What type of ceiling will be put up? Up here it can be $18-49 per linear foot, Email me with comments or questionnd
The way I see it is this. You have 90ft of wall space.

You need 92 2x4s assuming you frame 16inches on center. Cost= $303

You need 23 sheet of drywall Cost= $156

Add three hundred dollar for screws, paint, joint compound, corner beads, and over runs.

Cost for walls= 759
