We had changed some vents in our bedroom and some drywall chipped away, what is the best way to repair it?

Question:

Answers:
by your description it seems like you only chipped small areas.

if you have small area chips you can use regular painters caulk and fill the chipped area, smooth it out and let it dry for a day and then touch it up with paint. (if you don't paint the caulk the the caulk will change colors over time.)

anything large you can buy small container of plaster which costs about $5 and trowel let it dry, sand and touchup paint..

or just use the old college dorm method of white toothpaste.

spackle
well, without seeing it it is hard to say. If it isn't too bad you can just probably put a coat of spackle on it and then primer and repaint it. It shouldn't be to hard to do it yourself. Hope that helps.
I would take a little spackle and patch it up amd sand until smooth, then paint. If the holes are too big, you get this screen-type stuff and place it inside the hole, tie a string to it and pull it snug. Spackle over the hole and when it is dry snip the string.

Large hardware stores like Lowes, Menards and Home Depot have to-it-yourself tips on their websites. DIY network is an excellent place to find out how to do just about anything at home on line and they offer some videos as well.
