Are floating hardwood floors same as hardwood floor or they are laminate floor?
Question:Thanks.
Answers:
floating hardwood floors have laminate attached to the bottom of them, they are not the same as normal hardwood floors.
They are laminate. A lot easier to take care of then real hardwood floors.
Floating refers to how the floors are installed. Floating floors are not nailed or screwed into the sub-floor or walls. The literally float on top of whatever is underneath the. Most laminate floors float but that doesn't mean a wood floor couldn't.
Floating hardwood floors could be hardwood floor or laminated floor. The term floating is exactly that, it is floated above the subfloor or slab on a layer of underlayment and not nailed or glued down. Some laminted flooring are made of hardwood such as engineered wood flooring.
Real hardwood floors are nailed down to the subfloor. A floating floor covering is attached to itself and not the subfloor, with a thin underlayment. A laminate floor is not hardwood but it is floating. So they are different.
