Dishwasher won't drain?

Question:I have a Whirlpool dishwasher that's about 4 years old. It has a horizontally mounted motor that reverses to pump the water out into the garbage disposal. I've taken the motor & pump out and there's nothing I can see wrong with it. All the hoses and strainers are clear too. Between washing and rinsing the water is pumped out. However, at the end of the clean cycle there's about a gallon of water left in the bottom of the dishwasher. What should I check next?

Answers:
Sounds like the controller is out. Not every cycle is being completed. Everything else works with the exception of the final cycle.

Check the float switch to make sure it is not sticking. If it is working fine, the electronic brain.

hi
sound like the return water hose is mounted to high
the connection need to be close as possible the floor base in the cabinetto the drain pipe
water does not travel uphill
did you check where the drain hose connects to the drain pipe under the sink--had same problem & after pulling everything apart I took the hose off the pipe & lo & behold it had a big clog of sediment
call a pro and ask
