My flippin' kitchen has taken 2 weeks to fit, how long did yours take?
Question:I used to love take away meals, now I'm sick of them. -
Answers:
Can vary greatly. Normally, we'd [me and helper] would do a average sized kitchen in two or three days. Tearout by noon first day and have cabinets in by noon second day. Counters, tile and finish up on the third...
We used to joke with the customers that while the the salesperson said it was a three day job he didn't say WHICH three days we'd show up!!
Seriously, scheduling the "other trades" can add weeks to the job.
A bigger kitchen could take months. I did one where the people started setting places at the breakfast table for us, it took 3 months every day.
A new "tract" home would often take less than a day. we'd finish the kitchen by lunch and do the bathroom cabinets and counters in the afternoon.
Liked VideoMike's answer, like him, I've been working on my own for years. wife thinks I might never get it done.

a week aint bad.2 weeks is bad
mine took a week and that drove me mad so you must be tearing your hair out by now
1 week I did it myself.
7 years and it still isnt finished, the wifes going mad, but if i finish it she will find me something else to do, lol
It's all a question of details. We do a lot of Kitchens, Most are complete guts. We pull permits and upgrade the electrical and plumbing. Most of our customers get new flooring, new lighting, and move appliances and or the sink. These jobs usually take six to eight weeks, with people on the job every day.
I was busy working so decided to "call in the experts". A premium kitchen company - who I shouldn't name, but for sake of reference I will call "In-Toto", took 4 months and I ended up finishing the job myself anyway. 2 weeks - you've had it easy!
we had to re-do our bathroom--new drywall, sub floor & floor. new tub, toilet, vanity. the room is 6 feet by 12 feet--we did it our selves--from demo to finish it took us 3 months
Now, now, calm down.
I guess its finished, relax, you'll forget about it before long.
2 weeks is nothing. We tend to have bespoke kitchens and they take quite a while, and months to make prior.
Who did yours ? Moben tend to take 3-5 days, B&Q took 4 days to do my mums, MFI, who knows ( don't think even they know )
We gutted ours, laid ceramic tile floor, replaced cabinets, counter tops, even the kitchen sink in 4 days.
Ten man-days is typical for a small to medium UK kitchen.
I took about 2 weeks to fit my kitchen, that was in between going to work. Then six months later we had an electrical fire and the whole kitchen was burnt out. We were devastated! When I refitted it I had this dreadful feeling of deja vu. Back to normal now thank god!
If you have a firm in working all day every day it should take no where near as long as that BUT it does becuase the p!ss about.
My hubby is a joiner and done both our kitchens in 2 days with him and a mate.
The tiling and painting and electrics were done in a few nights.
Been installing flippin' kitchens and usually takes not more than 2 weeks for fabrication in the factory (including queue time while we fabricate other customers'), 1 day to remove existing kitchen, 2 days to install all our cabinets, and 1 more day for installation of any solid countertops. During the time waiting for the fabrication of the kitchen, wiring and plumbing would have been added or modified and all readied for the assembly.
18 ruddy weeks!! thats what u get when u ask ur ex 2 do it.
The b&q men came and fitted it in two days
Ours took about a month. We ordered it from MFI and got an independent guy to fit it for us - he said he could do it in 2 weeks but over ran and there's some bits he said he would do that he never finished!
I know what you mean about the take away thing! It was a real novelty to start with but after a while I was dreaming about roast dinners and home cooked food!
