What can I use to keep bees away from my patio area.?
Question:
Answers:
First of all; Bees are pollinators, and should NOT be killed. If it were not for bees, I would not have any tomatoes.
Generally speaking they will not bother you. You may want to avoid using sweet smelling perfume, or deodorant, move any flowering plants away from your patio, and avoid wearing bright colors.
They are really interesting to watch. If you want some honey, catch a few in a jar with flour in it. The flour will fill their pollen sacks, and make them easy to see. They will fly straight home with the full sacks, and you can follow. When you loose sight of one, just let another go from your jar.
Wrap some tall green grass in newspaper to smoke the nest before harvesting the honey, and you will be stung far fewer times.
spray any fly spray on them that kills them and wasps dont use water u will just stir them up and spray alot on them and surrounding areas
if you have colourful plants and flowers, it is pretty difficult...
try to plant your bright coloured flowers away from the patio and put green succulents like hostas, etc that don't have bright coloured flowers on them..
try using a bee catcher
Plant flowers as far from your patio as possible.
Take a 2 liter bottle (empty) with a piece of string tied around the neck, for hanging up, add about a liter of water in it with Dish soap... they like the smell of the soap and they will crawl in.. the soap coats the wings and they eventually drown. Works for flies and other undesirables as well. Good luck!
place some jar lids with soda in them at the back of your yard
