Does anyone know how to make your own storm windows without any complicated measuring?

So do you mean glass ones or the plastic window covers.?
I know how to make some using plastic that will fit like a regular storm window.
Lowes has (probably other places as well) these metal strips that come with corners that fit in strip that way there is no miter cut on the corners you cut the strip with a hack saw according to directions usually 3/4 " shorter than regular window size then take rubber spline and the spline wheel and stretch the plastic thru the groove.
Another way is they have vinyl strips(sticky back)
that you cut to window size hold plastic up and insert the other strip in the groove.
I've used both and they work quite well.
At least until I got new windows.
If you want the windows to fit properly the measurements have to be correct.
Of course you could use a shrink type of plastic on the inside of the window.
Kits are available at most hardware stores with complete instructions.

You can buy aluminum storm window extrusions,gasket material, and corner fasteners. These make the job a lot simpler. Try a good hardware store in your area. Make the frame, then they can cut glass to fit.
