What is etch primer?

Question:

Answers:
An etch primer is used as a key for the next coat normally on metals

It is not really a primer. It is a necessary evil step when dealing with concrete substates when want to put on a masonry coating. The etch is a form of acid that etches the concrete to create a texture for the coating to adhere to. Also concrete emits moisture and has the ability to leave a residue called efflourecense. The only way to remove this residue to use the acid solution. When you do this, there are several choices. Muratic acid, powder forms to mix with water, dual purpose products(not very effective). Again, this is the most important step in the whole process, I guarantee that if you were to skip this step, your coating will fail. good luck.
