Any tips how to pick a combination lock?
Question:It's open but I have forgotten the combination,I want to use it for gym, it's a 3 numbers combination

slide a pin/needle along the inside of the lock barrell until you cant go no further. then while applying gentle force, start turning the number digit nearest the pin. Once the right number is there, the pin will move into the next combination wheel. Repeat steps until done.

ha yes do what i did,get a hacksaw and cut it off.
Borrow a stethoscope from a doctor friend and hold against lock, listen for clicks,seen it in a film ,it worked.
You should really be asking how to re-set the combinaton if your lock is open.Any instructions??Good Luck

thats the only way to do it
Pull on the metal loop slightly as you slowly turn each ring.
As each cylinder moves to the correct number you'll feel the loop just move a fraction out, get the second number and it will move a out little more.
Work from one end number to the other end, (not the middle ones) if it's a barrel do the number furthest away from the loop first working your way towards the loop.
Keep pulling the loop away from the lock all the time and feel the movement as you turn the numbers, it takes practise but i can do just about any now.
Start with the number furthest away from the loop (Shank)and rotate the numbers round whilst pulling the shank outwards at the same time. You may feel the shank click into place (It takes a little practise) once the first number is found repeat with the middle dial and then the outer dial (Closest to the shank).Good luck.

if you get yourself a padlock shim (or make one) you can open it rather easily everytime.
